A digital artwork and photography portfolio by Bas Groothedde.
I needed a distraction, so I grabbed my camera and went out into the woods on a cloudy, windy and rainy day. Surprisingly, I managed to get a few macro shots of bugs and leaves.
The Sigma 105 Macro lens I'm sporting right now is amazing at stuff like this, but I did have to use a ring flash for this set of pictures. It was so grey outside, that I didn't want to compensate with shutter time or crazy large aperture settings.
The ring flash is quite amazing, however you'll have to completely shoot in manual mode. Manual aperture, shutter speed, ISO and preferably focus due to the wind today.
